Arden Mark Obituary

Arden Mark, age 91, of Lake George, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026. She spent her final moments in the home of her daughter, surrounded by the comfort of family and friends.

Born in upstate New York to Howard and Helen Travis, Arden dedicated her life to the care of others. After graduating from nursing school in the mid-1950s, she spent the next 40 years working as a Registered Nurse. Her career was a testament to her compassion and her innate desire to provide loving care to those in need.

In 1956, Arden married Lawrence Maslyn, a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. As a military spouse, she navigated the challenges of frequent moves, all while maintaining a nurturing household and raising six children.

Arden was known for her vibrant spirit and love for the simple joys of life. She had a lifelong passion for music, often singing through her daily chores and performing in various community musicals. She was a devoted caretaker of her pets and plants. In the 1990s, Arden moved to her favorite place on earth—her cabin in Lake George. There, she found peace, built lasting friendships, and remained active through local volunteer work. A woman of deep faith, Arden found great strength in her relationship with Jesus Christ and enjoyed fellowship at various churches throughout the Lake George area.

Arden’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her children: Lauren Brixius, Timothy Maslyn, Joel Maslyn, Maryclare Maslyn, Lawrence Maslyn, and Daniel Maslyn, her stepson Greg Mark, and 11 beloved grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Arden’s life will be held at a time and place to be determined by the family.
